Understanding Your Use of TypeGrade

Welcome to TypeGrade. These Terms of Use explain the conditions for accessing and using our website, online typing tests, educational resources, and other available services.

By using TypeGrade, you agree to follow the applicable terms described on this page, subject to your rights under applicable law. Please read these terms carefully. If you have questions, you can contact us at support@typegrade.com.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of TypeGrade, including its website, typing tests, practice resources, educational content, and other features made available through typegrade.com.

When you use TypeGrade, you are expected to comply with these Terms and with applicable laws. If you do not agree with a provision that lawfully applies to your use, please discontinue use of the relevant service. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights or protections that cannot be waived under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

If TypeGrade updates these Terms and provides notice where required, continued use after that notice may have legal consequences as permitted by applicable law. The enforceability and effect of any provision may vary by jurisdiction.

2. Description of Services

TypeGrade is an online typing test and typing practice platform. Available services may include online typing tests, words-per-minute (WPM) measurements, typing accuracy information, typing performance feedback, educational typing-related content, practice resources, and related website features.

We may develop, update, remove, or change features over time. References to a feature do not guarantee that it will remain available, be available in every location, or operate in the same way in the future.

3. Eligibility and Access

TypeGrade is intended for people who may lawfully access and use the website under the laws that apply to them. We do not establish a general minimum-age requirement in these Terms. If you are a minor, you should use TypeGrade only with any consent, supervision, or authorization required by applicable law or a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of TypeGrade complies with laws, rules, and restrictions applicable to you. Access may not be available or appropriate in every country or circumstance.

4. Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, TypeGrade permits you to access the publicly available website for lawful personal, educational, and other permitted purposes. This includes measuring your typing speed, practicing keyboard skills, reading educational articles, reviewing your typing results, and sharing feedback with TypeGrade.

You may view and use website materials for their intended purpose. This permission is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable where permitted by law. It does not transfer ownership of TypeGrade materials or grant rights beyond those expressly provided by applicable law.

5. Prohibited Activities

You must not use TypeGrade in a manner that is unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or materially disruptive. In particular, you must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to TypeGrade systems, accounts, or infrastructure;
  • introduce malware, malicious code, or other harmful material;
  • interfere with website performance, security, or the access of other visitors;
  • abuse forms, automated requests, or other website functions in a way that creates unreasonable load or disrupts operation;
  • attempt to compromise accounts, security controls, or access restrictions;
  • use the website for unlawful activity, impersonation, fraud, or rights infringement; or
  • copy, republish, or commercially reuse TypeGrade materials beyond what is permitted by law or authorized by TypeGrade.

This section does not prohibit ordinary accessibility tools or security testing that TypeGrade has expressly authorized. Any automated activity must be proportionate, lawful, and consistent with applicable permissions and technical restrictions.

6. Typing Tests and Results

TypeGrade typing tests provide informational performance measurements for personal reference and practice. WPM, accuracy, and related results are calculated using the methods implemented in the applicable test.

Results can vary based on test duration, text difficulty, device, browser, keyboard, network conditions, environment, and individual performance. A result may not reflect professional competence or predict employment outcomes, educational performance, examination results, or future typing improvement.

TypeGrade is not presented as an accredited certification authority. We do not guarantee that measurements will be error-free or that use of the platform will produce any particular WPM, accuracy, qualification, or outcome.

7. User Accounts

The core free homepage typing test is available without registration. TypeGrade does not require you to create an account to use that core free experience.

If TypeGrade introduces optional accounts or account-based features in the future, the terms and notices applicable to those features will explain relevant registration, access, and security responsibilities. Nothing in this section creates account obligations for features that are not available.

8. Free and Paid Services

Free

The core homepage typing test is free to use. Visitors may use functionality made available within the free experience, subject to these Terms.

Pro

TypeGrade may introduce a Pro plan with advanced typing features in the future. A Pro plan is not described here as currently available for purchase or subscription. If launched, applicable pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, refund, tax, and payment terms will be disclosed before a purchase is required.

Custom

Visitors may contact TypeGrade to discuss tailored services. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance, delivery, availability, or a particular price. Any custom arrangement will be subject to separately confirmed terms where appropriate.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

TypeGrade’s original website materials, including its branding, website layout, original written content, graphics, software, and user-interface components, may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Third-party materials, libraries, fonts, images, and other licensed assets remain subject to their respective owners’ rights and licenses. Nothing in these Terms claims ownership of materials that TypeGrade does not own.

You may use publicly available TypeGrade content for the permitted purposes described in these Terms. You may not remove proprietary notices or use protected materials in a way that exceeds lawful fair use, another applicable legal exception, or express written permission.

10. User-Submitted Content

You may voluntarily submit information to TypeGrade, such as contact messages, feedback, or other material made available through website features. If TypeGrade supports custom practice text or similar submissions, you remain responsible for ensuring that what you submit is lawful and does not infringe another person’s rights.

You grant TypeGrade a limited, non-exclusive right to process submitted content only as reasonably necessary to operate, respond to, secure, and improve the relevant service or address your request. This does not transfer ownership of your submissions to TypeGrade and does not grant a broad right to use private typing input for marketing or AI training.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

TypeGrade may provide links to external websites, resources, or services. Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms, privacy policies, and practices.

We encourage you to review the policies of external services before using them. TypeGrade is not responsible for independent third-party content, availability, or practices, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Service Availability and Changes

TypeGrade may update, maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue website features from time to time. Maintenance, technical issues, security events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect availability.

We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or universally available access. If paid services are offered in the future, this section will be applied subject to any contractual and consumer rights that apply to those services.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

TypeGrade’s data practices are described in its separate Privacy Policy. That policy should accurately describe the personal data processed through the website and the choices available to visitors.

Please review the Privacy Policy before using features that involve personal information. These Terms do not replace the Privacy Policy or make unverified claims about certifications or security measures.

14. Disclaimers

Typing tests are provided for informational and practice purposes. Typing results may vary, and educational materials provide general guidance rather than professional, academic, or career advice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, TypeGrade is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The website may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or technical issues. We do not represent that TypeGrade is an accredited qualification provider or that the service will meet every visitor’s needs.

Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer protections, warranties, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TypeGrade will not be liable for losses arising from website interruptions, inaccurate typing results, technical problems, unavailable features, or independent third-party services, where those losses could not reasonably be attributed to TypeGrade’s breach of an applicable duty.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability arising from conduct or statutory protections for which exclusion is not permitted. This provision should be reviewed and completed for the verified legal operator and applicable jurisdiction before publication.

16. Indemnification

Where permitted by applicable law, and only to the extent reasonably connected to your unlawful use of TypeGrade or infringement of another person’s rights, you may be responsible for losses or claims that your conduct directly causes to TypeGrade or others.

This provision is intended to be proportionate and does not impose an unlimited obligation on ordinary visitors. It does not apply where prohibited by applicable consumer or other mandatory law.

17. Suspension and Termination

TypeGrade may restrict or suspend access to relevant website features when reasonably necessary to protect the platform, visitors, or infrastructure, including in response to security threats, fraud, serious violations of these Terms, unlawful activity, or abuse of website resources.

Any restriction will be applied in a manner consistent with applicable law and the circumstances. This section does not imply that TypeGrade currently provides user accounts, subscriptions, or other account-based services.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

The legal operator, applicable governing law, and appropriate dispute process for TypeGrade have not been identified in these Terms. Accordingly, TypeGrade does not designate a jurisdiction, court, arbitration process, class-action waiver, or exclusive forum here.

Before publication, this section must be completed after confirming the operator’s country, legal status, and applicable consumer and business rules. Any future jurisdiction clause must preserve mandatory protections available to consumers under applicable law.

19. Changes to These Terms

TypeGrade may revise these Terms when needed to reflect changes to the website, services, legal requirements, or operational practices. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

For material changes, TypeGrade will provide notice where required by applicable law and through any notification method that is implemented at that time. The date for this version is October 18, 2026, and should not be changed automatically.
